Professional Background

Before ministry, Lora earned her Series 7 and 63 licenses and worked as a stockbroker at 18. She then served in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst. After an honorable discharge, she continued as a contracted intelligence analyst supporting the federal government — work that shaped the careful, evidence-driven thinking she brings to apologetics today.

Personal Context

Lora has been married to her best friend, Tom, for 24 years; they met in the Army. Together they have homeschooled their five children, including a daughter with Down syndrome and a daughter on the autism spectrum.

Her questions about suffering are not only academic. A brain injury once left Lora with more than 50 symptoms, from seizures and memory loss to confusion so deep she lost her sense of reality. She has also walked through postpartum depression and anxiety. Through every season, she found the same thing: Christ was faithful.

That lived experience informs her sustained engagement with questions of dignity, suffering, human limitation, responsibility, and hope — and it is why she can sit with the hurting and answer the skeptic with equal care.
